Permitting Your Project

January 1, 1970

It is common – when planning for a new deck or patio cover – to find out that a building permit will be required by the jurisdiction you live in.  Each city/county varies in its requirements, but the general rule of thumb is any structure greater than 30″ from the ground will require a building permit.

What is the number one question to follow when finding out a permit is required?  How much will that cost?

And a close second… How long will it take??

We’ve compiled our 2014 permit data to help guide you through what you can expect your permit to cost and how long it usually takes for the jurisdiction to issue it (we may not have information for your jurisdiction if we have not been contracted to submit a permit in that area).

Any permits issued the same day they were submitted are counted as “0” days
