The Dream:
Living in the stunning Pacific Northwest means experiencing seasons of unparalleled beauty, as well as stretches of relentless rain. This customer dreamed of savoring the charm of Gig Harbor, Washington, no matter the season. However, fully enjoying the top level of their three-story home was a challenge—until Timberline Patio Covers stepped in. We transformed their deck and outdoor space into a year-round haven for comfort and enjoyment.
The Build:
Once all permits and designs were finalized, it was time to begin this impressive build. Given the additional weight being added to the top of the structure, we ensured—and confirmed through code compliance—that the foundation was more than capable of supporting the load.
To reinforce the structure, we installed new beams to support the trussed roof design, integrating them seamlessly into the existing roof structure of the house. This careful planning and precision were critical to the project's success, and the team executed it flawlessly.
While the deck's underlying structure was in excellent condition, we replaced the top deck with a stunning two-tone TimberTech composite decking. Not only does it elevate the aesthetics, but it’s also designed for durability, promising years of low-maintenance enjoyment.
The Result:
The transformation is truly remarkable. What was once an ordinary deck has become a luxurious, year-round outdoor living space, giving this home the appearance of a multi-million-dollar property. It’s no surprise that this stunning upgrade has become the talk of the neighborhood.
Rock Electric stepped in to install all the necessary electrical features, enabling some exciting additions. We incorporated motorized outdoor screens by Universal Screens for shade and privacy, and added a custom metal privacy wall that perfectly complements the sleek design of the new patio cover. Lithonia recessed lights and Bromic Platinum hanging heaters were also installed, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.
For enhanced safety and style, our sister company, Rescom Railing, joined the project to install tinted glass railings by American Structure and Design. To maximize the usable space, the railings were flush-mounted to the fascia of the deck.
The finishing touches included elegant deck furniture from Kingsley Bate, completing the transformation from a dream to reality. This project has truly elevated outdoor living to the next level.
